Exodus Wallet – Our Ultimate Guide For Storing Bitcoin & Other Cryptos

About this guide: Our Exodus guide will show you how to set up and use one of the most popular free cryptocurrency wallets. We will show you what cryptocurrencies you can store in it, how to use Exodus and how to set it up. A significant number of cryptocurrency investors would rather spend their hard earned money on crypto, rather than expensive hardware devices. This is where the Exodus wallet comes in.

What Is Exodus?

Exodus was officially launched on 29th July 2016 and is a cryptocurrency wallet solution which enables you to store and manage your crypto. As a software solution, you should be aware that it is not as secure as a hardware device. This being said, we believe that Exodus is one of the best free wallets on the market right now. Around 400 people on CryptoCompare have already rated it 4.2 stars out of 5.

What sets Exodus apart from competitors is it’s beautiful, simple design and that fact that the team have also gone out of their way to remove confusing cryptocurrency jargon. We think this makes it the perfect option for those just beginning to dip their toes in the cryptocurrency market.

TotalCrypto.io Important Terminology
Public address: A public key is essentially the same as your bank account number. It is required for another person to send funds to you. If you have a friend who wants to send you funds, you would give them your public address to process the transaction.

Private Key: Think of this as a complex password that proves you own the tokens and are authorised to access them. It’s exceptionally important you never share this with anyone. If anyone finds out your private key they can access your crypto and do whatever they choose. A private key is essentially the same as the PIN to your bank account; you should treat it the same way.

You get one private key. Do not lose it. If you do, you will likely lose access to your cryptocurrency.

What Cryptocurrencies Does It Support?

The number and variety of cryptocurrencies supported by a wallet is probably the most important factor for people when choosing one. After all, what is the point in having a wallet if it doesn’t support the cryptocurrency you wish to store?

The good news is that Exodus actually supports a significant number of different cryptocurrencies and they do add support for new coins frequently.
